Artwork Info
What formats do you accept Artwork in?
We Prefer PDF files but can also accept file in the following
formats:
Corel Draw, Microsoft
Office/Publisher/Powerpoint/Word,
Adobe Photoshop
/illustrator / indesign, or any design package from which
artwork has been converted to PDF(free PDF conversion software
available at (
www.primopdf.com
)
We can also accept Graphic formats created in PC as well as Mac
formats such as: TIFF, EPS,
JPEG,
etc.
We require all non windows fonts for artwork that you supply,
even for EPS or PDF formats.
I have downloaded some images from the internet can you print
from them?
For best results we need pictures to be supplied at 400dpi and
saved in CMYK colour. Most images found online are saved in RGB
colour at 72 dpi, so whilst we could print from them the
results would be very poor and there will be a colour variation
when converted from RGB to CMYK.
Can I supply you with films and a
Cromalin?
No. We operate with Computer-to-Plate (CTP) and no longer have
the facilities to accept films. You must supply your artwork to
us on disk or by e-mail.
Can I email
files?
Yes you can. You should send them to
info@crescentprint.co.uk
There is no physical limit on the size of your e-mail, but we
suggest that if it is larger than, say, 20Mb that you send it
via www.yousendit.com website or on a disk to avoid non
receipt problems
Do I get a colour proof?
Yes. All our prices include one full colour proof either by
email or hard copy if required. We aim to provide the proof to
you within 24 hours of receiving your artwork. Please note the
proof copy is for checking layout of the artwork , although the
proof will be in
colour, please take the proof colour only as an indication of
colour, not the final print colour as colour can look different
when litho printed.
Please check the proof thoroughly and if everything is OK all
you need to do is sign the accompanying approval
form.
I have done my artwork in Microsoft
Publisher but it looks quite poor - can you make it look more
professional?
Yes. We can make artwork created in almost any program look
professional - however, in order to do this we would need to
reformat the artwork so as to use it in the applications that
they design in. This can be a fairly lengthy, please enquire
about the costs involved.
Do you print with bleed?
Yes we do.
In fact all work is printed with bleed. We
recommend that you use a 3mm bleed on all edges of the
document, unless, of course, your document doesn't require
bleed (eg. The ink does not go to the edge of the document) -
see the image below. If you are using software which doesn't
allow you to use bleed (such as Word or Publisher) simply
oversize your document 6mm on the width and 6mm on the height.
Please keep all text at least 5mm within edge of page (also
known as silent bleed).
